Potent antiretroviral therapy (ART) has been associated with a significant reduction in morbidity and mortality among patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). However, individuals with advanced immunosuppression are still at risk for hepatobiliary complications, such as acalculous cholecystitis and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related cholangiopathy.1
